2nd Department of Pediatric Diseases of BSMU

One of the clinical bases of the 2nd Department of Pediatric Diseases is the maternity hospital of the Public Health Institution «5 State Clinical Hospital». On this clinical base of the department classes on neonatology are held with students of the 5th and 6th courses of the pediatric faculty of BSMU. Future doctors have an opportunity to observe both healthy newborn babies and babies with various pathologies of the neonatal period.

The maternity hospital has a physiological department for newborn babies, pediatric department of the second stage of nursing premature newborns, as well as anesthesiology and resuscitation department for newborns. At the 2nd Department of Pediatric Diseases there is an active student scientific club, which conducts research work, including research in neonatology.

The consultant of the department for newborn babies and the pediatric department of the second stage of premature newborns of the Public Health Institution «5 State Clinical Hospital» of Minsk is Loginova Irina Andreevna, candidate of medical sciences, pediatrician-neonatologist of the highest category, associate professor of the 2nd Department of Pediatric Diseases of BSMU. Together with the doctors of the departments the therapeutic and diagnostic tactics of complex clinical cases are discussed, and cases interesting from an academic point of view are described and published in peer-reviewed collections.
